Construction

Chennai is growing quickly.  The skline changes daily.  We are amazed at how quickly buildings go up, and how manual is the labor that raises them.

Construction site.  Women do a lot of the heavy lifting, and recent articles in the paper note that they are paid significantly less, and do not rise to management positions.

Here's a building under construction. The scaffolding is bamboo poles.
